Sylvaine Braquemart, Research Associate
Sylvaine has been a part of the Chapter Three/Global Chapter/Fifth Element teams for over 21 years. Sylvaine started as a telephone recruiter and has been promoted several times. She now holds the position of Research Associate. Sylvaine recruits, interviews and moderates in French, as well as analysing qualitative research and contributing to the interpretation of results. She works bilingually with clients in a very hands-on fashion during project execution and in follow-up.
Sylvaine hails from Paris, France where she entered the world of healthcare early, working as a dental hygienist, a medical assistant in a children’s summer camp, an assistant to a phlebologist, and finally as an administrative assistant in a group of four medical clinics.
Sylvaine is a RIVA-trained focus group moderator and has furthered her education here in Canada with medical marketing courses. Over her years with us, she has conducted hundreds of interviews and focus groups with generalists, specialists, para-medical specialists, and patients.
Debra Valdes, Field Manager
Debra supervises our group of English medical recruiters. Debra began her career with Chapter Three over ten years ago and has remained with the team, moving from her first position as a recruiter to her present function.
Over the years, Debra has developed an intimate understanding of gatekeepers in the healthcare industry so she specializes in helping others to develop means to get through the gatekeepers to the appropriate respondents. She effectively manages quotas and respondent filters for her own assignments, as well as her staff’s, and recruits and interviews in ROC.
Arsinée Donoyan, Office Manager
Arsinée Donoyan is Fifth Element’s office manager, handling all administrative duties for the company. In addition to her keen organizational, personnel and accounting skills honed during her years in management of commercial and residential real estate and a business centre. Arsinée is an accomplished English to French and French to English translator, having graduated with a BA in translation from the Université de Montréal, and therefore is instrumental in terms of translating some of our research documentation and providing quality control on anything sent by clients or our outside translation group. Arsinée is also a translator for Armenian to English or French. Arsinée speaks three languages fluently, English, French and Armenian and has passable knowledge of Arabic, German and Greek.
Arsinée joined the team in 1997 as a part time qualitative research analyst (French & English) and translator. However, her organizational skills were too good not to take advantage of and she became office manager in 2000.
Sheilah Hawkins, On-site Ontario Interviewer & Qualitative Research Analyst
Sheilah has developed expertise in a wide range of therapeutic areas, and with a variety of respondent types, during over 10 years with Chapter Three and The Global Chapter.
Sheilah’s hands-on experience in small business management gives her a clear understanding of the importance of attention to detail - which is especially important in information gathering in market research - and in deciphering respondents’ meanings. Her contribution to project findings and interpretation has been key to the company’s evolution.
Micheline Ralet, Senior Research Associate
Micheline has been instrumental over the last two years in keeping us abreast of technology advancements in Field and Interviewing Operations and Process Control. Micheline’s background in the pharmaceutical industry includes 14 years in management and administration, operations, logistics and inventory management. She deploys keen analytical skills, honed as a business analyst for a pharmaceutical company and during 17 years in investment management and 2 years in consumer research. These skills afford her special insight into client needs and information analysis. In addition to her management of field operations, she interviews and analyses results and contributes to team discussions on interpretation.
Micheline is fluently bilingual in English and French and has a working knowledge of Spanish and Dutch.
Ladan Bashiri, Personal Assistant to the CEO
Ladan graduated from Concordia University with a Master's Degree in Educational Technology (Communications and Media Production) and served as a Director of Marketing and Public Relations in the retail industry for 15 years. Ladan has myriad talents which help her to manage other people’s lives, talents she perfected while juggling her own two-income, two-child family, as well as a full-time career and work as a volunteer. She came to work as my Personal Assistant, nearly two years ago.
Ladan handles travel and other business related arrangements, organizing events, and keeps us where we are supposed to be, when we are supposed to be there, with what we are supposed to have with us.
Richard Plourde, Marketing Strategist
Richard recently joined our team. He brings over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical and consumer marketing in multiple product categories and therapeutic areas. He has held several senior marketing positions in large corporations such as Bristol-Myers Squibb and Procter & Gamble where he developed solid expertise in strategic planning and brand development. His vision of effective marketing is encapsulated in a simple statement: understand, innovate and execute flawlessly. He looks at a brand, a program or a project as if it was a child with unique strengths that need to be revealed and developed with appropriate direction and support. When the time comes to roll his sleeves, his open-minded curiosity and focus fuel his drive for results.
